"Too many Document CAL assigned"

Hi All,

I've installed QVS that has 5 CALs and 10 Document CALs.

I've assigned 7 users to one document and after that we've un-installed the server and re-installed it again.

We've changed the document name and would like to assign 10 users to the 10 Doc CALs

as we're doing so we're getting the message "Too many Document CAL assigned" .

I've searched on the posts in the community and didn't found an answer to this case...

I'll appreciate your help on this issue.

Hi David,

I think to free up the existing DOC CALs Qlikview takes 24 hours, I think this is the issue.  Are you able to assign Doc CALs for 3 users?

Yes, I can assign to the 3 users but not more..and the thing is that the 24 hours already passed..

Any other idea?

Hi,

this is one solution you just deleting metadata file and Restart your services.then try to assign the CALs.

Did you check to ensure that the document name that was changed had all the document cals removed

Not just the users but the number as well

I deleted a document once with cals still assigned to the document (I though QV would automatically remove the cals)

I had to save a document with the same name (as the deleted document)

Remove the names against that document

Remove the number of doc cals assigned to the document

Then they were free to reassign immediately (no wait for 24 hours)

I've done that and still getting the same message.

Any other ideas ?

Did you clear the cals from the renamed document (I assume you did before it was renamed)

When you uninstalled did you clear registry and IE cache?
