remote management service

Hello

we are working on QlikView 11 SR5

Actually we have two server machines (development and deployment)

Publisher is installed

I've finished working on development server (created tasks for reload, tasks for reduction and distribution)

now end user need to access dashboards from the deployment server asap

How can I copy documents and tasks to the new server machine and have everything work just fine?

I've read several posts saying to use remote management service to accomplish this yet no further clue

You should find information about remote management service in the QlikView Server Reference manual. It's not that complicated to figure out once you try it (famous last words, I suppose). Look in the QMC in the services tree for the "Remote Management Service" option.

Once up and running, you can copy tasks between instances in QMC. Documents (and folder mount structures) needs to be manually copied though.

Does it work just fine if on server 1 QlikView server is installed on the default location while on the new server QlikView server is installed on D:\ Drive?

Well, since the directories in QlikView Server and Publisher, like User Document folder, Source Document folder or QVS root/mounts are all relative paths, as long as they are identical from the root and below, it should be just fine.

Hi Ali,

Another solution is to add the Deployment QVS to the QMC of your Development system and then use that to publish the Deployment system.
