As per the qlikview license offer,it says that qlikview enterprise server -No of licenses -1.
Does it mean that we can use the same license for all environments by installing 3 times one in development, test and production and giving the same contriol and serial number for all three environments OR do we need to buy seperate license for "Test Server".
kindly let me know your inputs.
Solved! Go to Solution.
For development you don't need any server license a CAL is enough for Qlikview Desktop. But for Testing the app in server you need have Test server license. For the production environment you need have QV EE or IAS or QES servers. PSB for detailed explanation.
QlikView Server Editions & Other Products
The QlikView Server comes in a number of editions designed for different organizations and purposes. Upgrading is done through the license key. The various editions of QlikView Server are listed below.
QlikView Enterprise Edition (EE) Server
QlikView EE Server is designed to be used in large and complex deployments and provides features such as unlimited documents, server-based collaboration, integration with third-party security systems, server clustering, and cluster licensing. The minimum configuration of a QlikView EE Server is five Named User Client Access Licenses (CALs).
QlikView Small Business Edition (SBE) Server
QlikView SBE Server is designed to be used in smaller deployments. The minimum configuration of a QlikView SBE Server is five Named User CALs.
QlikView Information Access Server (IAS)
QlikView IAS is a QlikView Server that is licensed for an uncapped number of users and a single QlikView document. The IAS may be licensed with multiple QlikView documents for an additional fee. QlikView IAS runs in anonymous mode, must be publically accessible without authentication (on the public Internet) and, must not be placed behind a firewall. No QlikView client program can access QlikView IAS. The user interface must be built by the end user either manually or by using QlikView WorkBench. Note: There is no license lease from QlikView IAS.
QlikView Extranet Server (QES)
QES allows users to deploy QlikView documents to their extranet in order to permit authorized third parties located outside of the firewall to view the QlikView documents. Use of this server inside the LAN is not allowed. The server can be deployed with a combination of Session and Usage CALs. QES supports mobile clients and can be deployed in clustered environments. The AJAX client or a customized AJAX client can be used via QlikView WorkBench, which is included in QES.
QlikView Test Server
QlikView Test Server is a server license that provides an environment separate from production to use for data validation, application testing, and preparation/migration of QlikView documents to new versions and/or releases of QlikView. QlikView Test Server comes in two editions, QlikView EE Test Server and QlikView SBE Test Server, both of which have the same features and limitations as the corresponding production servers. In addition, the watermark “Test” is superimposed on all charts and added to all object captions. Note: There is no license lease from QlikView Test Server.
If it is a one sever license, may be you can create 3 different folders for all 3 environments and have them organized.
Or you can buy more licenses to have complete set up separately for each environment.
We would be having 3 different Environments for the Setup installed on VM's. Kindly confirm do we need to buy 3 different licenses and we cannot use the same license for the 3 environments by applying the same control and serial number through Qlikview Management Console..
i think for three environments no need of 3 lisences we can use one enough.
but we maintain three paths for 3environments. dev, itg, pro.
Thanks for the replies..
Can please elaborate if three paths for 3 environments means how we would be mentioning the paths. As I see we configure these environments in different boxes(VM).
If you are installing on three different you need have three different licenses. That is why QlikTech is having Testserver license version also.
Thanks for your reply !!
So if we are having 3 different environments installing in 3 different VM's, We would be requiring the licenses as below.. How about Development Environment license?
QlikView Enterprise Server : 3
Qlikview Enterprise Server - 1
Qlikview Test Server - 1
Qlikview Development -?
I could see any attachment. Can please re-upload once and let me know for development Server license.
