.shared file

Hi All,

I am currently facing an issue. I have explained the issue in detail below.

There is one application which I have distributed to the accesspoint based on company (i.e., it is distributed like XXX AE, XXX APAC, XXX EMEA, XXX Global & so on). In this only XXX EMEA and XXX Global files alone shows like "No Preview available" image in Accesspoint portal. When we tried to open the application it throws an error "File corrupted".

I have checked in forum and got few solutions like "Delete files (.qvw,.meta & .shared) in accesspoint folder & distribute again". But still the problem exists.

As I deleted the shared files when I again distribute the files the shared file is not created again.

Kindly help me to create the shared file for that application again and how to resolve the file corrupted error?

Please help me in this.

Awaiting for your solutions.

Thanks,

Leni Balakrishnan

Rohit: Why would he want to delete the .shared file? It won't be re-generated automatically, all content in the .shared file is generated by users. Removing the file will meaning losing all its content.

Hi Stefan Bäckstrand,

I used to delete all META/PGO/SHARED Files if any strange things happens in my Access Point  (BUGS) mostly when I update the latest application with change in  security matrix ...

well It's get generated again the moment when that Application is opened on Access Point.

It never effect my application but do you have any comments on this? I mean  losing what?

Hi ,

The shared file will get recreated again if you deleted the shared file and open thedocument in accesspoint but ,As stevan said, all the object created by the ser which was present in OLD shared file won't be visible because it can only created by the report user. and you cannot retrive it by the report.

So, whenever you find the above issue instead of deleting the shared file defragment it . The issue will get resolved. And always remember to take the beackup of files . In case if something bad happen you can roleback to original.

Thanks,

D  J

Hi All,

I took the original file from the production environment and place it in test & ran the task. Thus the file gets distributed without getting corrupted to the accesspoint folder.

It is happening only when I distribute in prod environment.

Why it is so? Any specific reason?

Could anyone help me in this??

Thanks in advance

This exact thing happened to me.  I tried all the solutions they mentioned here with no success.

The problem turned out to me a trigger OnAnySelect.  Removing it resolved my issue.  I haven't yet figured out what to do instead, but at least my document isn't corrupted during publication anymore.

Do you have any triggers on your document?  It might be worth it to look into it.

Good luck.
