upgraded server from version 11 to 12(Showing unexceptes behaviour in selecions)

Hi All,

We have upgraded server from version 11 to 12.But desktop version has not been upgraded(we are using same desktop version 11.2).

Previously we have done our development in 11.2(desktop version).

When we are deploying applications developed in desktop version 11.2 to newly upgraded server it is showing unexpected behaviour on access point.

Like selections are not working properly.

Can you please suggest how should we handle this problem.

Regards,

Deepak

Re: upgraded server from version 11 to 12(Showing unexceptes behaviour in selecions)

Is there any issue to upgrade your desktop to 12?

Usually 11.2 and prior versions i have seen backward compatibility. But i believe 12 has slightly different architecture (QIX engine??) compared with 11.2/later.

Assuming you know this... when you create a app in 11.2 version meaning once you hit SAVE in desktop that QVW will have 11.2 build. You can check this in "document support info"

So lets say you are moving this app which was saved in 11.2 desktop meaning with 11.2 build to 12 server/access point then you might see issues.

I believe even if you open a support ticket, they will suggest to upgrade your desktop to 12.

Hope this helps.

Hi Deepak,

Can you please brief your opinion and experience on upgrade from QlikView 11.2 to QV12.

Does it make any huge difference from development point of view?

Any key points that you would like to mention about?

Went through the release notes but still wanted to hear from you as you are already using QV12.

Thanks
