what are PGO files. When they are created and why

what are PGO files. When they are created and why ? .. What is the main purpose of the PGO files. When we are upgrading our version what kind of role does the PGO files have.

Hi Vinay,

These are all server files, usually located in the same subdirectory as your published documents:

  • .pgo     Server objects like CAL information, Ticket information etc. Managed by QVS and not really intended to be used or manipulated by developers. HOWEVER, some can also be exported as xml and then read by a suitable QVW. Ex. look for the License Analyser in the resource Library.

In .PGO files, you have all the CAL infos stored. From Server Manual :

BorrowedCalData.pgo : Keeps track of borrowed Client Access Licenses (CALs).

CalData.pgo : Keeps track of CALs.

IniData.pgo : Coordinated version of Settings.ini.

ServerCounters.pgo : Keeps track of statistics.

TicketData.pgo : Keeps track of tickets.
