JSON connector example.zip

Here's an example of a custom JSON connector Visual Studio project for a QlikView connector that reads a JSON file directly into QlikView.

I downloaded the QvxSDK and I modified one of the the examples to read a JSON file. I did not find an example and very little info on how to read a JSON file into QlikView so I "examplified" connector from the production environment and now share it.

To modify the connector you need Visual Studio. To test it, you need to copy the connector files (found in the folder "JSON Connector Example\bin\x64\Release") to a folder in C:\Program Files\Common Files\QlikTech\Custom Data". Most likely you need to create this folder.

Look at the QVXSDK and http://www.newtonsoft.com/json for more detailed information.

Hi Johan,
I hope you can help me out a little.

If i understand correctly, This connector does not pars the JSON file for it's structure.?
I have to have prior knowledge of the structure of the JSON file to use this?

thanks.

Hi Shoham,

No, it does not. But I think you could use the Olik Rest connector, https://help.qlik.com/en-us/connectors/Subsystems/REST_connector_help/Content/1.0/Introduction/REST-connector.htm. It was not available when I wrote the JSON-connector.

Thanks for the prompt response .

I had a problem using the Rest connector directly with JSON (Text) files I had.

I worked around it by setting up an IIS on my laptop and putting the files in the folder under the default web site.

this way i was able to access the files with the REST Connector
