This document concerns data modelling and joins

  • What is the difference between a join using the join prefix and a join using a SELECT statement?
  • When should you join and when shouldn't you? Performance considerations?
  • Are there alternatives to joins? (Yes! Applymap!)
  • What does the Keep prefix do?

Hi hic,

I'm new to qlikview:

I have a doubt regarding Loading.

I Load the data and later I deleted the script and reloaded the data. It's fine the table related to previous load disappear from the datamodel. My doubt is the qlikview application still holds that table or is deleted in the reload. If it retained with the application then how can i get that table's information? is QVD creation is possible with that table If it exists with the application?

This document was invaluable for me as a beginner. It really sets you on a good starting path.

The most important part of the article for me was the following: "The association can be evaluated to a left join or a right join depending on where the user has made a selection. And with no selection, the association is always evaluated to a full outer join."  Just seeing that functionality verbalized was very helpful
