LOAD data into QlikView

Dear Community,

Please find a new document explaining the LOAD command.

This document was first the content of personal notes. It has become bigger and bigger: I just hope it is not too big. it contains 60 pages: let's say that there is almost a tutorial even if there is no exercice.

Basic syntax is first explained but less basic syntax is also reviewed.

Please enjoy ...

Fabrice

PS. compared to version 1, I took into account HIC' comment and added two sections: INPUTFIELD (to enter some data into QlikView) and Generate Random Data (for test purposes)

Nice write-up.

A small correction, though, on the Drop Table/Field statement: You write that it must be in plural, e.g.

   Drop Fields X, Y;

if several fields are to be deleted. But this is not true. QlikView will not test your knowledge of English grammar. It will drop the table or fields no matter what.

Henric,

Thanks for your comments. I did not notice that both keywords (TABLE or TABLES) could be used for any case (1 or several tables). Same for FIELD and FIELDS keywords.

I have modifed the document.

I noticed that in this document it is given INNER JOIN is the default JOIN in QlikView. Actually the default JOIN in QlikView is OUTER JOIN.
