QlikView - Using the REST Connector

In this video you will learn about our new REST Connector and how to use it with both Qlik Sense and QlikView. The Qlik REST Connector provides a means for the Qlik Platform to efficiently load data into a QlikView or Qlik Sense application from a REST service that returns data in XML, CSV, or JSON format. The metadata returned is then used to select specific tables and fields to be loaded into the Qlik data model.

Get the connectors here from: Qlik Market

NOTE: The sample PDF has been made into documentation in the ON-LINE help - available here: REST ‒ Qlik Connectors

Hello,

I've tried using this connector with a SharePoint list that is on Office 365.  I've created the necessary link and when I paste it into a web browser I receive the XML data back.  However, when I try to connect to the list via the Rest Connection in QlikView 12, I receive the following message:

Connection failed

HTTP protocol error 403 (Forbidden):

The server refused to fulfill the request.

Any one have any suggestions on things to try to make this work?

Thank you,

Liz

Hello Liz, thanks fro your question - I will provide a thought here, but please also post this in the main section of the community so others may be able to respond, I want to make sure you get the help you need.

At the moment, what I am thinking is when you pasted the url in the browser you were already authenticated, so you received the response back from the service. So I would think you need to also provide the correct authorization parameters in the configuration so the connector / client - application is authenticated to issue the request - which I believe it is not therefore getting the 403 message.

Please post this question in the community here: New to QlikView along with my suggestion (referenced as mto ) so we can get other eyes on this as well and I will be notified and updated.

Mike Tarallo

Hi I am connecting to a table and because the table contains too many rows, I just want part of data, such as CustomerType='student', I tried Query Parameter and Query Header with Name=CustomerType and Value=student, and it returns same result as I don't pur any condition. The result returns several records for each type, what setting makes it to do so? And how do I get Student data only? Thanks!

Hello Anil - I will update this page - the reason the document has been removed is that the Connectors now come included with Qlik Sense and you can get the ODBC Connectorpackage at the customer downloads section.

http://us-d.demo.qlik.com/download/

I am not the partner and service provider. Will you attach the link for me where we can access direct. Because, My company doesn't have account with software downloads. And if i login as guest looks trouble to get for me. Will you ??
