Documents for QlikView related information.
Recently my QlikView Server crashed. As result of this crash I lost all the named and document CALs.
To prevent future loss I developed the CAL Qvd builder.
To get the named and document CALs I import the CalData.pgo.xml file into QlikView.
See PGO to XML conversion to get the list of users in QVS for getting this XML file.
The imported data will be combined with the data from previous reloads.
The end result is a Qvd. All the changes are logged with a start and an end date.
I used to CRUDhelper framework to support the loading process.
See CRUDhelper framework - Incremental loads with ease
In the CalData.pgo.xml the CAL last used date is logged.
This date is formatted as a 64 bit hex value.
With help of a custom function this hex value is converted into a timestamp value.
See Converting 64 bit hexadecimal (PGO dates) to decimal
If you do not want to lose your CALs, I advise you to make use of the CAL Qvd builder.
