Step by Step Qlikview Upgrade from Version 10 to Version 11
Step by Step Qlikview Upgrade from Version 10 to Version 11:
1.1 Single machine server and publisher upgrade:
Take the snapshot backup of your server
Install the .net 4.0 and above (as .net 4.0 is mandatory for version 11)
Keep the service account userid and password handy(as you may need to enter these details while starting the services using your service account after upgrae).
Take the backup of your source documents
Take the backup of QVPR folder from Installation drive (..\AppData\ManagementService). This is needed to migrate the tasks manually by copying this folder into new installation path.
Take the backup of Web folder from Installation drive(in general C:\Program Files\QlikView). This needed to carry the Access Point Customization
Take the backup of Lef.txt file from C:\\ProgramData\Qliktech for future reference. ProgramData file will be hidden under Crive.
Also note the publisher Serial Number and LEF details from QEMC. If you do not have backup, you may request qlik tech by giving your license number. They will provide LEF and control number details.
After downloading Upgrade package , run the exe. You can give service account details while installing the upgrade package. Sometimes if your service account is a domain id, you may not be able to recognize while installation. Don’t worry you can enter these details manually in the services after installation. Just check the box as you will enter service account details later.
Once upgrade is completed change the service account details for Qlikview services and Restart your server.
Check QMC(in 10 it is QEMC) and verify the scheduled tasks. If you don’t see any tasks, copy the QVPR Folder.
Also verify License details or server and publisher.
If any customization required in access point, Do it accordingly.
