Various levels of security implementation using Section Access

Hi All,

This document helps you in implementing the security for Qlikview Dashboard at various levels like

  • Document Level
  • Row Level
  • Sheet Level
  • Object Level
  • Column Levels.

Document Level Security:

This level can be easily implemented easily using the QMC's feature.

QMC -> Documents -> User Documents -> Click the required Dashboard -> Authorization -> Select Named Users in User Type and add the required users.

Row Level / Data Level Security:

Sometimes we require this type of security that we need to restrict the data show in the Dashboard based on the logged in user.  For example a Marketing Department user can see only Marketing data, a Sales Department user can see only Sales data and some Managers need to see all the Departments data.  For this scenario we need to implement this type of security.

Refer below link for sample data and scripting.

Sheet Level Security:

Sometimes we require this type of security that we need to restrict the sheets in the Dashboard based on the logged in user.  For example we need to give access to specific sheets for specific people and needs to hide the sheets for specific people.  For this scenario we need to implement this type of security.

Column Level  Security:

Sometimes we require this type of security that we need to hide some columns or fields in the Dashboard based on the logged in user.  For example we need to give access to specific columns for specific people and needs to hide the columns for specific people.  For this scenario we need to implement this type of security.
