I am interested in creating maps in Qlikview. Has anyone done a comparison of the mapping extensions out there? We've looked at QlikMaps. It's good, but rather pricey ($25,000). I would like a mapping solution where I can "query the map."

There is also a sample document included in QlikView Desktop where you can see an example, called "Extensions Example.qvw". Remember though that usually the biggest cost might be that Google is limiting your usage of their Maps API after a certain threshold, whereas you need to buy an Maps API license, see Google Maps API licensing - Google Maps API — Google Developers .

Again, check out the "Extensions Example.qvw" sample document included in QlikView Desktop. It has been updated in a later release, I would recommend to test the latest one, v11.20 SR7. The example seems to have some of the features you are requesting, and you can easily read the script behind document.
