Displaying Filtered QVW on Sharepoint in iFrame

Hi all,

I'm working on a Sharepoint/Qlikview integration project.  We're trying to display a QVW in an iFrame within Sharepoint, filtering the QVW depending on the Sharepoint page that calls it.  For example, if the "Project ABC" Sharepoint site calls the Project Dashboard, I want the QVW to filter and only show data for Project ABC.  From what I understand if I/we add "&select=LB20,Project%20ABC" to the Accesspoint URL for the Project Dashboard, I should be able to display the Project Dashboard filtered to show only data for Project ABC.  This method doesn't seem to be working for us however, and I'm not sure why.  Does anyone have any ideas?  Let me know if the scenario I'm describing isn't clear.

Hi Robin,

If you are using SharePoint you should look into the product "QlikView Web Parts" - http://www.qlik.com/us/~/media/Files/resource-library/global-us/direct/datasheets/DS-QlikView-Web-Pa... . It should be able to help you with what you want to do.

I've been looking at this blog post:   QlikView Mashup Examples & Documentation (QlikTip #48)

and in particular this section of it:  QlikView Mashups - Simple Document Integration

It seems to suggest that first of all, Workbench is required, and secondly, that if someone wants to display an entire QVW application that the opendoc.htm method is required (I don't think Qlikview webparts allow one to display an entire Qlikview app, only a Qlikview object - Sharepoint web parts allow you to display an entire app I believe).  From what this blog post says I think we're using the correct filtering method, it just may be that the folks wanting to implement this don't have Workbench (they're using Sharepoint 2010 and IE8-10).

Does anyone have any opinion or insight or additional info on the above?

Hi Robin,

Yes, WorkBench/Web Parts adds a proxy functionality, essentially pushing forward who is authenticed. It is possible to configure something similar without those products but it is harder to configure and you will likely run into NTLM multi-hop issues.

Can you tell me a bit about how one can create a solution without WorkBench or WebParts?  The blog posts I gave links to implied that Workbench was necessary to integrate Qlikview and Sharepoint, but it sounds like you feel that's not the case.  I'd love to have more details!

Perhaps look into this extension, it should give you what you need: Sharing and Embedding Multiple QlikView Objects (v11 SR2+) .
