UPDATE 2013-03-23
It's great to see the support from the community around mapping! This thread has been great to follow and lots of fun contributions has been added.
It has however become quite crowded with different versions being discussed and it's hard to find any useful information anymore.
So I have decided to kill off this thread and at the same time I have updated the extensions and split them into 3 parts with each extension having it's own thread.
Hopefully this will make it a bit easier to find information, ask questions and share new implementions of the extension between each other.

Google Maps - Heatmap (New!)

If there is interest for a more collaborative development let me know and I will host the extensions up on Git.

Hmm that is strange, selectrow method should take the entire row.
If it doesn't I don't think there is an easy way without resorting to workarounds

Hi Alexander
Sorry for this late reply but I was out of office.
Well it is quite strange, indeed. My fear is that there's a way, in worst case, of exist two different points with the same latitude but with different longitudes. In that case, I am screwed...
Thanks for all your help. It was very helpful
Best regards,

Hi Alex and all.
I test the extension Map_infowindow.qar. Very Nice extension !!!
I would like to improve this extension. By default, google give some pictures
M1 : http://google-maps-utility-library-v3.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/markerclusterer/images/m1.png
M2 : http://google-maps-utility-library-v3.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/markerclusterer/images/m2.png
M3 : http://google-maps-utility-library-v3.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/markerclusterer/images/m3.png
I would like to change these pictures by If my enseigne is Intermarché, the M1 picture is brown like this :
IF ( Enseigne = 'Bricomarché', lightred(), IF ( Enseigne = 'Netto', lightblue(), IF ( Enseigne = 'Intermarché', Brown(),IF ( Enseigne = 'Roady', lightGreen(),White())))) .
I want to change these pictures. by Red,Blue,Brown,Green and White.
Any ideas ?
Thanks,
Judi.
Hey Judi,
So the images are coming from the cluster plugin. It groups several markers so if you want to color code the cluster all markers in the cluster would have to belong to the same category.
I would probably choose to remove the marker cluster plugin and work with normal markers but with a custom image. You can add a custom icon property to your markers that gets pushed into the array. You would have the create those images yourself and host them somewhere, most likely on the same web server running QV.
Kind Regards

Hi Alex,
Thank for your answer but I don't know the JavaScript and I don't know how
is it possible to achieve that.
I don't want to break it all.
If you have some diretives or examples, I appreciate a lot.
Thanks a lot for your extension.

Hi Alex and all.
I was wondering if it's possible to put information in the pins or use just a marker with information in it. The requirement I have is a list of people with zip codes which I have longitude and latitude associated with them. The issue I have is that there are multiple people with the same zip code and there is only 1 pin. I would like the pin to show the number of people at that zip code. Any suggestions and examples would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!
Robert
Hi Robert
I am also facing the same issue.
My issue is in Popup, all the name should be there. Even that we have achieved i think...
But in popup the users wishes to select patients in the area and see other graphs related to selection..
I am wonderign how to select values from static extension object output..
QV experts.. pls.. can u help me ?
Hi there Alexander,
Thank you for all the information and files that you have shared, the extension is working great for me and with all the little extra tweaks I was able to get it to the point I wanted to.
I will like to ask you if there is a way to tweak the map or Java script to speed up all the information displaying in the map?
Every time I use the reset button to start a new search based on my category's the map is trying to display all my information, so then I have to wait about 30 to 45 seconds for all the information to finish showing up on the map.
Is there a way to have the map not show information until I have made some selections?
Or just a way to speed up the map will help.
I hope Alexander doesn't mind, I did a few small changes to his example in order to display information as a heatmap.
Please find attached the new example.
