?Bug? in QlikView's expression editor

Hi,

I just worked on one of the formulas in an object I have in my current document and came across a very strange behaviour of the expression editor: The formula we have there is a nested IF construction - not ideal I know, I will try to replace it in time - and the strange thing was that we could add or remove two closed brackets at the end of the formula and the editor invariably said "Expression ok".

At the end, we even arrived at a situation where the editor highlighted an opening bracket at the very beginning of the formula in red, thus marking that this bracket had no match, but it still said "Expression ok" ?

Is this normal?

Best regards,

DataNibbler

It is normal.  Don't count on "Expression OK", especially if you use set analysis, variables, and other advanced features.

Hi Michael,

thanks! Well, but then it is still something that should be reported to the developers if they don't already know about it.

Best regards,
