Chart Scrolling Reversed - Okay on Screen but not on Report

Hi....

This is a follow on from a previous post.   I used to do som MAT Charts quite easily in QlikView Version 10 via Reversed / Max Visible chart options.

Eventually got some help to point me to the Presentation Tab of the chart to the Chart Scrolling options.

I have now got my charts working as previous (except for a scroll bar) but I can live with this.

Issue I now have is that, whilst my chart is giving the desired effect whilst looking at it on screen - the report is not respecting the reverse scroll...

Screen captures attached...

Is this a bug or is there something that I can do to make the report reflect the screen?

Paul,

There is no, and there can't be scrolling on printed charts.  What you need is to create a separate chart specially for report, where you limit months only to the last 13.  Keep it on a hidden tab in your QVW.  It is typical to have objects for reports which you don't use in application itself.

Re: Chart Scrolling Reversed - Okay on Screen but not on Report

Thanks for the response Michael - why have QlikView made something that worked so well so complicated?

This will still not work for me...if I hide the first 12 months my caclulation does not work!

I have attached an example of what I have in front of me...

As this is MAT, I need to have the full compliment of data within the chart to calculate the MAT - but need to hide the first 12 months as these do not need to be displayed.

Is there a different way of changing the calculation to achieve what I need?

Any assistance greatly appreciated.

Given the nature of the expressions, you cannot simply cut off the eralier months.  You need to revise the expressions in the "short version" of chart to be used in reports.

Another possible approach is to use a macro which CopyBitmapToClipboard.  Looks like "copy image" gives the desired result, at least in case if do it manually.  I didn't try in a macro.

Re: Chart Scrolling Reversed - Okay on Screen but not on Report

Thanks Michael

Was thinking of creating a script that, for each period, sums the last 12 months sales - this way i will hopefully be able to get what I need in the report...

Very frustrated that something that worked well in QlikView 10 has been broken in QlikView 11.

Anyhow, thanks for all your help...

Regards,

Paul
