Distribute/apportion values over different periods

Hi,

Interesting one for you here..........

I have 2 sets of data where the first set has regular periods such as months, quarters, years and the second set of data has the periods defined as "2010 1H" (which is Jan - Jun 2010).

How can i distribute "2010 1H" evenly over Jan - Jun so that when i am reporting on sales over time for both sets of data, the chart displays correctly.  At the moment when i use a dimension of months in my chart the second set of data is displayed as ' - ' on the X axis.

I am even happy to add 2010 1H data to a certain month if distributing over many months is not possible.

Thanks,

Sunil

Hi,

maybe it's easier if u post an example file with some data to try some solution.

I think that in this case the solution is linked to the data set u created and maybe u should change something in the script.

C u,

Stefano.

may be you should create like below

Year&' '&if(Month='Jan ' or Month='Fen'  or Month='Mar' or Month='Apr' or Month='May' or  Month='Jun','1H','2H') as filed

in first source

and link  with field where date is like 2010 1H

and then do ur chart

hope this make sense
