How can I show the parent field value on the total label field ?

Hi,

I have a pivot table with two dimensions, continent and country. I want to show the continent value in the label for totals.

Can any one give an Idea to solve this problem.

Many thanks !

Can't be done.  The intend mode is you best bet, I think.

Thank you for your reply,

The 'Indent mode' is a good idea but it doesn't correspond to what am looking for.

here is an example

As you can see I need to add a formula to the 'Label for totals' option in the presentation tab to get the same result as in the previous image.

Thanks,

Hi Slaheddine,

the 'label for totals' option on the pivot chart persists across all total line for that dimension I'm afraid, so I don't think this will be able to do as in your image

Is this an acceptable solution for you? You will have to introduce a "helper"-expression to show the continent ... but it will only be shown on the total rows:

Thank you Petter for your help

Yes I think it can be a solution unless there is no dimensions in the columns.
