Hi Bradd,

yes this is possible, if you're running QV10. Create a project folder named same as your application plus "-prj". When saving, alls Objects will be stored there as XML files. When opened, object definitions are pulled from this project folder if existing. See the help file for more details.

Hi Florian ,

Hi Bradd,

usually when you open the document, it uses the XML files from the project folder. But not only for objects, there is also a file QlikView.txt which lists all the objects. Same for sheets, document properties etc. They all must be in line, it is not enough only to copy XML files to the other folder.

I haven't had enough time yet to fully analyze all the files, but for the simple approaches I had so far, it worked. Maybe once I tried more complex models, I will post you a short step-by-step description here.

Another thought: Why don't you just copy the whole sheet by copy/paste? Changes in the objects you still can "distribute" through the XML files.

It works but I want to share my tab with my fellow developer who is not near to me

my problem is I got a document layout file of XML's from my fellow developer Where im failing to load them .

in Qlikview 9 I can export as sheet layout and import as sheet layout but in Qlikview 10 it's not showing me any option to export as sheet layout !

Thanks a lot

If you are using version 9, from the menu File -> Export -> Sheet Layout will generate the layout as xml file. You can import the layout from the menu File -> Import -> Sheet Layout.

I have used this to copy sheets from qvw file into another qvw file.
