Line chart background color

I am trying to show weekends in gray as the background color. Does anyone know how I can achieve this? Or is it more trouble than it's worth?

I ended up using what you suggested, but with the Weekend formula as just Max(WeekendFlag). Then I stuck that on its own axis and set the static max as 1. Looks like this now, which is just what I wanted:
