Merge headers in Straight table chart

Hi All,

We are currently building Monthly Profit and Loss account for one of our client.  The Months are displayed in multiple columns like showed below

Particulars     Apr    Apr           May    May      Jun    Jun

                 Actual  Budget   Actual  Budget   Actual  Budget  

Revenue       XXX     XXX         XXX     XXX       XXX     XXXX

and so on.

The user has come up with a new requirement wherein he wants to see the format of P&L as mentioned below.  Basically have a cell merged as done in excel.

Particulars           Apr                  May                 Jun  

                 Actual  Budget   Actual  Budget   Actual  Budget  

Revenue       XXX     XXX         XXX     XXX       XXX     XXXX

Is there any way how we can replicate this requirement using a single straight table chart.

Hi Raghav,

You'll have to use a pivot table. The Month and Type dimensions can be drag-and-dropped to turn from vertical to horizontal arrangement. There are several examples in the file I attached.
