size of the frame in a stacked bar chart

Hello,

I want to show some stacked barcharts one below the other and I want to use 'Text on axes'.

Why is the red frame much larger than the bar? Is it possible to reduce the size of the frame nearly to the size of the barchart?

I don't need the 'Text on Axis' at the left and it's no different to the size, if i disable it. But can I see bothe of them, when I have only one row? Maybe that's the problem?

Attached a small example with my problem.

Thanks for any help,

Klaus

you may use static min and max.

Thanks, this helps for the length but unfortunately not for the width.

may be you can make the chart background color transparent and then use 0 border.

you can use a text object with 1 border on top of the the chart with white background so that it will look like you have the bar chart width as per the size of the text layout.

You can't eliminate that extra whitespace in the frame. But you can make the frame transparent in Colors, Frame Background. Drag the transparency slider to 100%. Then you'll see only the bar.

It should look like this (without the red frame):

I have to work with several bar charts and these barcharts should overlay a table. If you use Chrome of Firefox as a browser, the table has a different format. Because of this, I have to use several single barcharts.

In the example above I marked the bar in the middle: the frame extends over all three bars. So if I move my mouse over the first bar, I cannot see the "Text as Pop-up' because it's overlaid by the second bar.

Hi Klaus,

is this what you want? See picture below:

yeah you are right the text as pop up will not work as the bars overlay each other.

but i think you still can have some text objects to display the values being visible when somebody does a text as pop up. and even you can show these values conditionally on click but it will still not give the text as pop up feel.

Hi Burkhard,

thanks for your response, but I need a smaller frame and in your example I cannot see the frame. It's not the problem to make the frame transparent, the problem is to make the frame as small as the bar chart.

I suspect, that it's unfortunately not possible, as Rob said.
