Measuring usage of off-line (downloaded) QlikView Documents

***re-posted from an archived/locked post***

Hello,

We use the "Allow download" feature of Publisher to allow some users to pick up their QV documents at the AccessPoint and save them to their PC for off-line use. This works well, but we'd like to measure the usage of this feature. In other words, who is downloading which document at what time (and how often, etc.)? The closest we have come is the IIS logs; unfortunately they encrypt the file name while the user name and date stamp are intact. Any other ideas? I sent a note to support and they recommended I post here.

Thanks,

Jen

Hi,

an option could be the Windows Auditing on file / folder level. According to the settings, you can see in the event log (Security), when who opened which file. I suppose you could make a QlikView application to read the event log.
