No Connection but plenty of Ram

We recently tried to install QlikView Server on our Dev VM... We quickly got the no connection error and after checking the community we realised the problem we were having is not the same as everyone else.

We are getting the no connection error, we have checked the host file which is mapped to the current host, firewall is disabled, and our VM have 16GB of Ram free. Any ideas of what to check next or how to fix it?

Thanks in advance!

  • What are you using for web server - QlikView Web Server or IIS?
  • Is the QlikView Web Server service (if using QlikView Web Server) or QlikView Settings service (If using IIS) running? Have you restarted them?
  • Have you reviewed the %ProgramData%\QlikTech\Webserver\Log files and the %ProgramData%\QlikTech\QlikViewServer\Events.log file?

Where are you getting this "no connection" error? I remember the dreaded "no server" message in the AP, but that's probably due to the QVS not running or not licensed. Did you install a (Test) server license? Did you restart your VM after installation?.
