Number of DocumentCAL Issue

Hi everyone,

I have a small business server with 15 UserCAL Licences and 100 DocumentCAL Licences. I have a problem with the number of DocumentCAL used. I have 45 DocumentCAL Licences used and on QMC, I see 53 DocumentCAL licences not allocated.

How could I get my 2 DocumentCAL licences missing back?

I think I have lost these when I had renamed applications but I don't remenber first names.

By advance thank you.

In QMC, go to Documents > User Documents, and in the tree with the QVWs, you will probably see the 'ghost' QVWs which doesn't exist fisically but QMC still lists them because of the CAL settings.

Locate these ghost QVWs, delete the Doc CALs associated to them and probably this will solve your problem.

Hope this helps you

Fernando

Hi Thank you for your help, but in QMC I don't have any ghost QVWs.

How can I do?

Thank you.

Hi,

Another thing: there is a slight difference between CAL allocated and CAL used. For example one QVW can have 10 allocated CALs but only 8 assigned to users.

Maybe this explains the difference...

I'm facing the same problem.

What do you mean by CALs that aren't assigned to users?

Federico,

for each QVW, you must set the 'Number of Document CALs allocated to this Document'. If you set this parameter to 10, but only 8 users lease these CALs, then there are 2 Doc CALs that aren't yet assigned to any user.

usually "ghost documents" are uppercased in name.
