Facing an issue when running the Task on QMC it ran for few secs but doesn't do anything neither Dashboard refresh nor logs genration.

Need to understand what could be the issue.

Hi Manish,

if the task actually ran there should be a log for it for you to review. On the QMC if you select the task and the show task details, there is a log tab which should provide some info.

You should also look at the qvw application log itself. Posting up both of these will help with troubleshooting your problem

Note that logs of server reloads are to be found in the Distribution Service log directory. Navigate to C:\ProgramData\QlikTech\DistributionService\1\Log\Date\Time - Taskname\.

Hi,

how does it matter if the application was deployed by different user who was having admin access on server but now no more.

ano another user has a admin access on server.

Thanks

So you are using Section Access in your document? As long as the Service Account of the QlikView Distribution Service has ADMIN access and is allowed to open the document (NTFS rights), everything will be fine.

However in your OP you told us that no logs whatsoever were generated. This can only be because either

  • logging has been switched off entirely in QMC, or
  • de QDS doesn't pick up any tasks...

Problems with access rights, authorizations and Section Access only pop up after the QDS picks up a Reload job. Which means that a least a TaskLog should be available...

Hi,

Try recreating the task and see if it will work. Also, is it all task or just one?
