The QlikView software and the customized configuration that it currently uses are two different things.

For the QlikView Software, you do not need to make a backup. Just store the installers in a safe place, as you probably already do for other software packages in your company.

For the current server configuration, include directory tree C:\ProgramData\QlikTech in your backup schedule.

Note that this does not include any documents, meta files, shared file or QVDs as you may have moved your document root folder somewhere else. It does include all master pgo files however, and that's where the assignments are stored.

Best,

Peter

Dear put your question on discussion forum.

For backup of application just rename the application with date or version no like abc_v1.1 etc.

Qlikview datatbase mean which i understand you are talking about qvd, so should store qvd with date stamp.

like abc_12-Dec-2014 etc.

Dear Zain & Enrique,

Thanks for reply, this would help me to store the QVWs where in all the scripts are written.

Secondly, I have a query for taking backup of QlikView software.

Is there a need to take backup of QlikView software? or licences etc.

Regards,

Girish.

Dear,

Qlikview desktop/server/publisher software has no need to back once you installed but licences are required when you install new or you uninstall full and then you are going to install QV.

Zain.
