Question on clustering

Hi,

I'm going to release a QlikView cluster based on two different server (QVS) and one Publisher.

I'm going to use an hardware NLB to balance client requests.

My question is about the source document location that should basically reside on a Windows Share e.g. a windows base NAS.

If I'm going to store there all my documents when a client asks for a document this will be transferred over the network (from NAS to the QVS) before loading it into the server memory.

It can take a lot of time, depending on the QVW size.

On a 10/100 Lan it can result on a high latency response for the client.

How you usually manage this kind of issue ?

How it is possible to maximize perfomances ?

The server version is 11 SR2.

Thanks a lot for you answer

You can use preload option while deployment at QMC Level. so that document will be loaded into the memeroy before user comes in.

But Loading all the files is head ache again.

I can set preload option on each QVW ?

So I have to choose the biggest and most used documents ?

The QVW will be preload on the server startup ? on which of the QVS of the cluster ?

Thanks a lot

Hi,

To start NAS storage devices are not supported by QlikView. Evil80210 is correct, with large documents preload is the best bet.

I'm sorry why did you said "To start NAS storage devices are not supported by QlikView" ?

I've read that NAS is supported by QlikView, as described on pag. 17 of the attached document.

Isn't it right ?

How can I set the preload option ? I've to set document by document ?

Thanks a lot

Hi,

We only support SANs as a windows share for this. I am not sure how old this document is. Not saying that you will have issues, but if you do there nothing Support can do for you.
