Does the QlikView server cost include that of Publisher?

Hi,

Does the Qlikview server licensing cost of $35000 (as mentioned in the price list) include the cost of the QlikView Publisher or does it have to be purchased separately?

Hi,

     Namita, the cost doesnt include the publisher cost.

     It is just a cost of QlikView Server, you will have to purchase it separately.

     But as far as installation is concern, publisher will be installed when you install the server. When you apply proper publisher license, the publisher features will be enabled.

Hi, Namita.

The cost of Publisher is quite high so make sure it is genuinely needed.

A cheaper option is a third party product called NPrinting. With this you can schedule the delivery of QlikView reports as Word, Excel, Powerpoint or HTML documents. These reports can be sent to email addresses, Google Drive folders. It is also a third of the price of Publisher.

As a component the QDS or QlikView Distribution Service can be considered the Publisher. In your Windows services window you can stop and start the QlikView Distribution Service at all times, but in the Management Console you can only manage it under System > Setup once the Publisher license has been applied under System > Licenses.
