Email Alerts

Hi All,

I need to send an email to the team once the task is finished in QMC as 'TASK HAS BEEN FINISHED SUCCESSFULLY'. If task is failed in QMC as ASK HAS BEEN FAILED  I don't want any attachment to be sent along with this email.

Please help me on this.

Thanks in Advance

Regards,

Nihhal.

Re: Email Alerts

I resolved issue, see below steps.

  1. Tools --- Alerts -- Give required details,
  2. Setting -- User Properties -- Mail -- Give required details
  3. Reload by QMC.
  4. Recipients will get mails once execution finished.

Regards,

Nihhal.

Re: Email Alerts

I would set up two new QlikView apps, each with a basic alert with the condition set to simply 1.  One can be set to run on success the other on failure.

You could let the QMC deal with failure notifications itself - as this is baked in.

Re: Email Alerts

Hi Nihhal,

Can you post a screenshot of the details that you input in the Mail tab. I am getting error when I am connecting to smtp.gmail.com.

Really appreciate it.

Janaki

Re: Email Alerts

Why are you connecting to gmail for email distribution? Wouldn't it be easier (at least administration-wise) to connect to a local company mail server?

I never tried connecting to gmail, but one of these two reasons may block you from forwarding emails through the GMail smtp-server:

  1. GMail refuses to act as a forwarding host. This is a common antispam measure.
  2. GMail may allow you to forward email only if you authenticate using a valid gmail account. Did you provide one?

Still, those are guesses. It would surely help if you would tell us exactly which error message you receive from the smtp-host.

Best,

Peter

Re: Email Alerts

It also requires TLM and uses non standard ports, but as long as things are

set up correctly it should be possible to use GMail.

Thanks Peter for your reply. I had to make few changes to my settings and I was able to connect to our work google account.
