Excel not opening from Access Point

On one user's PC, when using AccessPoint and the Java client, when she clicks on the Excel button on any chart or table, Excel does not open.

When she clicks on the Excel button a 2nd IE window opens briefly and then closes again.

Excel used normally on her PC is fine. Other users can use Excel from AccessPoint fine.

Does anyone have any ideas why this would be happening?

All advice greatly appreciated.

It actually turned out to be quite simple.
In IE, there are various security settings against each security zone. One of them is something like "Always prompt for file download". This needs to be enabled.
So what I did was add our QlikView AccessPoint URL to the Trusted Sites zone (so that I could be sure of which zone to edit) and then enabled that option in that zone.
It worked a treat and I've done it on 2 machines now.

Hi Andrew,

I did not know that it works with Ajax and Java.

Did you get the same problem as in figure when you clicked on transfer to the excel sheet in the application?

Thanks in advance

Hi

I have seen a similar problem. Although, if Excel is already open, the download works fine.

I am new to the QV server edition - is anyone able to explain "security zone" in the context of the reply above about security settings ?

Thanks.

Richard
