How to Get Rid of Module Security Dialog Box when Exporting to Excel

How to get rid of  "Change Module Security" Dialog Box , When a User tries to Export chart to Excel using a Button(Runs a Macro) in IE plugin, they need to check the option "Give System Access to Module Script" and some users dont get the dialog box at all and we asked them to click "Ctrl+Shift+M" and check the Give System access option, But it is annoying to Check this option everytime they login.

I tried the options mentioned in QLikview Forums

Desktop

Settings -> DocumentProperties ->Security -> Macro Overide Security is Checked

Settings -> UserPreferences -> Security ->Module, Launch & Confirm Launch from Macro are Checked

Qlikview Managemnet Console Server

Security ->Allow Unsafe Macro Execution on Server & Allow Macro Execution on Server are Checked

Is there a possible way to Export to excel without checking the Dialog box or CtlShtM

Hi Shalini,

Just go to the edit module screen and change the Requested module security to "System Access" and Current Local Security to "Allow System Access".

Hi Kuldeep,

I have already made that security setting and it works on desktop version. I tried all the settings suggested in Qlik community.

Don't think you will be able to with using a Macro. Not sure what you are trying to do with the export, but you can always put the icon on the item you want to export.

Bill,

We are not just Exporting one table to excel but multiple tables from different tabs which should be exported to one excel with respective sheets, and I don’t think this can be achieved without a Macro.

That is what I was figuring you were trying to do. Unfortunate you will have to have the end user enable the security on their machines.

Re: How to Get Rid of Module Security Dialog Box when Exporting to Excel

As far as I know, the 'Give System Access to Module Script' IE Plugin option is stored in a Settings.ini file located at C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\QlikTech\QlikView (Win7 folder) in the client machine. When you open the file, there should have a piece of code like:

[Settings for QlikView Servers]

Module Script System\servername1=

Module Script System\servername2=

Module Script System\servername3=

I once had this problem when the clients were using Citrix Server (a kind of Terminal Server application, not from Microsoft), but the user profile was deleted when the used logged off, so the Settings.ini never persisted. I had to modify the logon batch so that a Settings.ini file with the above code was copied to the user's profile when the user logged in.

Re: How to Get Rid of Module Security Dialog Box when Exporting to Excel

Fernando,

Unfortunately I cannot do that because the User base for this application is very large and modifying settings in their machines has to go through many approvals and not feasible. I was wondering if there is nothing we can do on the server to eliminate the dialog box can we atleast make sure that “Change Module Security” dialog box appears for all the users, as of now it is inconsistent some users can see the dialog box when they click the Button and for some nothing happens and they have to do “CtrlShftM”, Can we make sure the Dialog box appears for all the users and we can train them to Select “Always give system access option”

There is nothing you can do on the server side. This is all Client side actions.
