Is there a function to verify if a user is a member of the QlikView EDX group on the server, return all members of that group?

I have used the VB Script provided by Vlad Gutkovsky in the following link http://community.qlik.com/thread/36620 to trigger a reload from within a QlikView document.

Now, I would like to hide the triggering button unless the user is a member of the QlikView EDX group.

Any suggestions would be appreciated,

B

One manual way to do it would be to have an Excel file with users and read that into your QV app.

And then check if the current user is present in that list.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I was hoping for a more automated solution.

You wouldn't be able to check user membership on a local group within a macro because the macro runs on the client side.

What you could do is add the users that are members of the QlikView EDX and QlikView Administrators groups to your application model and check against it. A very simple way to read local groups members is using a shell command like this

net localgroup "QlikView Administrators" >QlikView Administrators.txt

And then read that txt file.
