Not able to Access from mobile devices

If we are in the network then we are able to access the access the document with a link similar to this

http://qlikviewsrv.rwjf.org/XXXXXX/opendoc.htm?document=Executive/XXXX_HR_Quarterly_Report.qvw&host=...

whereas when we try to access the same link using a mobile device ipad/iphone it comes with a dialogue box for Authentication Required. If we give the login and password then we are able to see the dashboard.

How to make it available without having the Authentication request.

Thanks

Hi,

That is happening likely because you are using Active Directory (NTLM) authentication. iPad, as any other tablets and mobile devices except for Windows Phone, must ask credentials before getting to the AccessPoint. In your laptop or desktop computer, you are using the integrated authentication that comes with Windows, because you have already logged on to the computer.

That does not happen in a mobile device, therefore the error. You can use VPNs, or digital certificates associated to your AD accounts set into the mobile browser to automatically log into the AccessPoint.

Hope that helps.

Thanks,

Can you explain a bit more on how "digital certificates associated to your AD accounts" this is to be setup in the server?

Hi,

Yes, in fact you have to ser this up in the domain controller, mwhere the accounts of users are created and stored. Windows Server 2008 and 2012 allows you to create certificates and assign them to users as a method of authentication, instead of the traditional username and password.

This is totally Windows related, so better take a look here:

Hope that helps,
