The number of tries only continues while the timeout has not been met.  It is not the timeout for each try.

It works if me if my reload fails for a reason other that excessive time.

What version are you using?  Publisher?

Hi bnichol,

we are using Qlikview version 9.0, with publisher...

How do I do if I want to set a new load automatically if the connection fails for some reason?

In version 9 there isn't a way to automatically trigger a reload based on a task failure.

Depending on why the task failed, you could handle it differently...

1. Extend the amount of time before the task times out.

2. Modify the load script to identify the last successful execution and only reload when a set amount of time has passed.  Then schedule another load following the timeout period of the first task.  If the first task fails, the second will try again.  If the first task is successful, the second task will pass through without loading.

Good Luck,

B

Hi,

Is there a way to force a retry if execution fails in QV 11?  I see the # of tries at the bottom of the trigger, but not sure how that interacts with the Timeout in Minutes field which is set to 24 hours?

Thanks
