Hi All, In the following senario of production server cluster, wherein One of the server has Publisher and server installed. In other server Management Console and schedule server have been installed in which PDF generator tasks, Dashboard refreshing tasks have been scheduled. Now if I am installing Management Console and scheduler to new server, Is there a way to backup and restore tasks, so that I need not create all the tasks again.
Kindly provide a solutiion for this.
Thanks.
Make a backup of the directory C:\ProgramData\QlikTech\ManagementService\QVPR. That's where the task repository lives (if your are using the XML-version). There is also a QMC page where you can make repository backups automatically. See QMC->System->Setup->Management Service->Repository->Backup settings.
On the new machine, restore the task repository from the backup you made and put it in the same location.
Maybe you should consider storing the repository in a SQL Server DB (the free editiion will probably do very well). In that case, it would be a matter of simply disconnecting the old server from the DB and connecting the new one.

Thanks Peter, this is helpful.
Hi,
What Peter forgot to tell you is you have to edit the QVPR with the new server names.
Bill
Correct, unless you plan to upgrade to a new system that will replace the old one. In that case, you can transfer the system name as well. No QVPR changes needed...
