QMC - how do I remove orphaned docs which had tasks or have moved

   Can someone assist?

As you know if you delete a document before removing Doc CALS this can caused no end of issues which are pain to resolve.

I have a large selection of qvw which are left under User Docs which I believe remain as there were Tasks attached to them.  I have seen many articles about creating blank qvw in the original folders but these have changed too.

I would be interested to here of peoples experiences or methods to remove such orphaned docs.

Assuming that you do not have a Publisher...

In QMC you can check whether a document has a reload task and / or Document CALs attached. This also works in a Publisher-environment where you will be dealing with Source documents (the User documents can be safely deleted in Windows Explorer). If neither one exists, or you manage to delete them in the QMC, you can safely delete the corresponding QVW. If you always follow these steps, there won't be any problems.

On the other hand, once a document is gone that had Tasks or Document CALs or both attached, the method of removal depends on your setup and some other (version-dependent) intricacies of the server software. IMHO the steps are well documented.

I've had good results with the available tools. Can't complain...
