QV Publisher 8.2 spectacularly slow

Ok, I know is old tech now but I still have to support a creakly old server with Publisher 8.2 and this is spectacularly slow.  Takes ages to edit each task.

Any handy hints for boosting the performance?  I am running on a VM so am a bit at the mercy of other VMs on the blade in question but I seem to have spare RAM and CPU usage is low ...

hi Ian:

In my case, I solved it!, starting qv distribution services with an user with administrative privileges on the server, not on the domain.
