Hi All,
We have QV Publisher to schedule jobs in our enviornment. We are trying to set muliple triggers on an application. Please seggest how can this be achieved in QV 9 SR7. Below are the details:
Enviornment: QlikView 9 SR 7
Scheduling: QV Publisher
Eg - I need to set the trigger for a dashboard (Say A) after the completion of QV jobs B, C & D.
Please suggest how can this be achieved in QV 9 using publisher or a work around.
Regards,
Vikram.
Hi Vikram.
I think you are after a trigger like:
When both B, C and D are complete, trigger A to run.
B
C
D
.. A
In QVP v9 you can currently not set up a trigger for multiple triggers like that:
However, if you can set it up like this in a normal sequential flow:
B
.. C
.... D
...... A
Or if the jobs B, C and D always completes in a large time difference, for example B always runs very quick, B runs 1h slower and D always runs 3h slower, then you can set up a flow to run B, C and D parallel at the same time, and run A after D. But ofcourse, jobs can be disturbed, and maybe D finishes before B.
So I think a sequential flow will do the thing if it's possible for your time window.

Thanks for the reply Magnus.
We had re-architecture of applications recently, to reduce the run time ofapplications & make the application available faster than before.
Was wondering if there is a work around to achieve trigger dependent on more than one event.
Warm Regards,
Vikram.
Hi again.
This is sadly not possible until QVP v10.
Instead you can check which of the jobs B, C, D runs the longest/slowest.
Run A after the longest job.

Thanks Magnus.
I will propose that solution, between can you suggest if we can use the option 'On a external event'? I am not sure, how it works though.
Regards,
Vikram.
Hi again.
EDX means the task can be started via QVS API calls.
It can be programmed in several languages and is covered in the QVS documentation.
Tricky though...
