QVDistributionService.exe

Good Morning,

I have a problem with the QVDistributionService service not starting, it's been running fine for weeks then it's just stopped. Having tried many different things including changing the user that runs the service, all the other QV services start using the same user.

I have uninstalled & re-install QV Server 11 but still won't start, the message is from the event viewer:

Hi, I am facing the same error message in the event-log. Anyhow our Distribution Service is running fine. So probably the problem of the Distribution service not starting has another source. It would be interessting to know about the reason of this event-log message anyhow.

HI,

What do you get for error when you try to start the service? Have you try to rename or delate the folder:

C:\ProgramData\QlikTech\DistributionService

The service start should create a new one folder will all setting like before without the logs ofcource.

Let me know if this work.

Are there any details in the QDS logs?

c:\ProgramData\QlikTech\DistributionService\1\Log\.

have the same problem, renaming does not help, but have found entries in the c:\ProgramData\QlikTech\DistributionService\1\Log\

quote

2/7/2014 09:56:43.5142377    Error    An unexpected error occurred while trying to read notification file, C:\ProgramData\QlikTech\DistributionService\Notification.xml. The mentioned Notification.xml has only the below entry:

quote

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>

<Root/>

unquote

After deletion it is created automatically with same entry.

Any other idea?

Edith says: it may help to attach the log files

Have your IT department installed anti virus software?

If so,  C:\ProgramData\QlikTech has to be removed by rule to not be scanned.

Can you describe your setup?

Do you have two clustered Publishers?

Ok

Can you run any jobs or isn't it working at all?

BTW

Found some errors in our log also. 🙂

Anti virus program problem will probably generate these errors:

"The process cannot access the file '\DistributionService\LoadBalancer.xml' because it is being used by another process."
