Nas is just a specifc machine to provide folder sharing.
If no nas, qvs server must open file share .
Enterprise client and no Publisher, why?
Can you please elobrate here, to share the disk we can attach SAN to it....
that was given a way back ago, but we dont need publisher, reason we have multiple qvw's instead....just to save some bucks here.....
NAS is specialized equipment. If you have no NAS, you can deploy a server(QVS) attach SAN disk which can provide folder share.
But if you have 2 QVS as cluster. You can not attach one LUN (SAN disk) to both of the servers at the same time. Because QVS cluster is not OS-based cluster. I think QVS cluster members couldn't visit the same SAN-storage.
Hi ZZ,
Please correct me if i'am wrong here,
lets say i have Server A whic is primary server and Server B which is seconday server, and i hosted all the services on BOTH servers like below
Server A
QVWS (Active)
QVWS (Active)
QVS (Active)
DSC (Active)
Server B
QMS (Passive)
QVS (Active)
DSC (Active)
QMS (Active)
Now I've attached SAN to Someother server assume server C (Something like File sharing).
With the above can i achieve the HA or Not reason i'am not attaching any NAS to it.
If you have aonther Server C attach SAN disk, serverC+SAN is actually a NAS.
In another word, NAS is a server with storage.
Thanks for your quickly reply, really appreciated your support on the same.
one more lets say Server A and Server B two different servers, a SAN is attached to Drive "E"
whcih is shared between Server A and Server B...but .without C....now can it work?
Regards
Imran khan
san disk is only attached to one Server(A), and shared.
ServerB can visit the Shared disk.
But it can't attached to both of the 2 Servers.
