Hi, I have a problem with our QV deployment - every couple of days, the Qlikview Server process will hang, requiring a restart of the QlikviewServer service in order to get things to working correctly.

Soon after it stops working, I get log entries like this:

Clients typically get a completly white screen - they are using the webclient.

A few notes on our environment:

I recently upgraded to QV11 (but it was happening previously with QV10)

All qlikview services are running on a single windows server (Server 2008 R2).

I'm using the builtin Qlikview Web Server, not IIS.

Any recommendations to fix this?
Would running another qlikview server help? E.g. if I had two systems running QlikView server, would one pick up all clients if the other wasn't working in this manner?
Any recommendations for monitoring this? I started watching the event log entries with our monitoring applicaiton (kaseya) and was going to have it restart the QlikViewServer service, but this isn't fast enough for our users - they are on me to get things working before I get the notification.

Alex, you should look at the events.log file on your server for more information.

It might also be a good idea to restart all services periodically, even daily if you can live with that.

I could definetly restart the services daily in the early morning - is there a recommended/required startup order for them?

We had similar symptoms, although the server process was hanging after hours rather than days. It turned out to be an issue with QV compatibility with Unix based NAS. Remounting the share in the server as a LUN resolved the issue (but complicates DR/HA). If you're using a Unix base NAS, might be worth investigating.

Hi guys,

I have a similar problem with akochkipp's , maybe even the same one.

My observation is that this error does not occur randomly, but when you modify and save the document (in my case).
