Question: How to purge old tasks from status window in Publisher

I have several old tasks that I have deleted, but the publisher status page still shows tasks that no longer exist.  How do I purge the reference to the deleted task?

I saw information stored in the workorder.xml file in the Qlikview Distribution Service folders, but I'm weary of deleting information from there.

Using Qlikview Publisher 9 SR3

Thanks,

Jeff G

Did you delete the document or the tasks?

If it's the document, you can delete the task from the 'Orphans' section from QEMC > Documents > Source Documents > Server > Directory > Orphans.

I'm not sure why the tasks results would still visible If you deleted the tasks, but not the document.

Good luck,

B

Simple trick, create an empty qvw file with the same name than the applications deleted, remove any scheduling and the remove the qvw file.

Thanks bnichol for the insight about the orphaned tasks folder in QEMC Source Documents section.  I had deleted the documents, but couldn't figure out how to delete the tasks.  I thought I had deleted the tasks before the docs, but I guess not.

Hi,

Orphans seems a much neater way of doing this.  However, I have no Orpahns navigation option.  Is that a Licence thing?

Thanks

Good question about the licensing bit.  I'm not certain.  What I do know is that you have to use the Qlikview Enterprise Management Console, not the regular management console, to view the orphans.  Here is a screenshot of my QEMC.  If you have orphans (I don't have any at this point), you will see that there are references in the folder below.

The license I have for publisher and server is an enterprise license, so that may be why I see it and you don't.  But I can't imagine that orphan cleaning would be a feature left out of one version vs another.

By the way, this is QV 10 SR2.  The version of QV you are using may have something to do with it as well.

I did read elsewhere on the site that Source Documents is reliant on Publisher licence. We don’t use publisher so I think our setup does not allow this. Would be good if it did.
