Server 11.2 SR6 - Alert Email Tags

The new tags work, however the [TaskLogHyperlink] and [DocumentLogHyperlink] aren't entirely useful. This is because they reference the server hard drive in the hyperlink (C:\ProgramData\QlikTech\DistributionService\1\Log\20140425\141.....) and you are more than likely not receiving the e-mail while on that server.

Is there anyway to have the link reference the UNC path to the file?

For example:

\\MyServer\ProgramData\QlikTech\DistributionService\1\Log\20140425\141.....

or

\\ServerShareName\DistributionService\1\Log\20140425\141.....

Hi Brian,

You are on the right path here, but need to ensure that the path is shared as a network share and that the service account for the QDS have the correct permission both on the network share AND NTFS permissions.

Regards,

Erik

What about if you change path to Application data folder under Settings to a unc path instead?

Good idea, but it didn't work. The QDS service was not able to restart uning the UNC path.

You have to share the folder for the unc path to work.

I have not had time to test my self, I hope I can test it today

I am using a Share. It's for the QlikTech folder. Instead of C:\ProgramData\QlikTech\DistributionService my Share is \\<servername>\QlikTech\DistributionService. But when I used it for the Application Data Folder the QDS was unable to restart.

The help says "To select a folder, enter the valid and absolute path in this text box", so maybe "absolute path" means a UNC cannot be used.
