My current dataset has data aggregated at the month level. Data used to come in monthly and have a transaction date of the last day of the month. However, I now receive data daily with the transaction date of the current month. I am appending my QVD with the new data and need to show trending by the month. I am thinking I need to write something in the script to group the new data using monthend(TRX_DATE) where as I currently just use: date(TRX_DATE, 'MM/DD/YYYY') as TRX_DATE.
I also use the QVD to create a calendar so I need to be able to join on this field when it's the old data grouped by month or the new data that comes in daily.
Any thoughts?
