Do .qvx files take up more disk space than .qvd files?

We have been experimenting with using .qvx files instead of .qvd files for storing some of our larger tables.  The reason for this is that Informatica can write to .qvx targets and we are testing to see if Informatica can create a .qvx file faster than Qlikview can create a .qvd file for the same data set.  One thing I have been noticing is that the .qvx file takes up quite a bit more disk than the same data set in a .qvd.  Is this a known issue or am I doing something wrong when I load the .qvx through Informatica?

Hi Matt,

QVX is a very different format related to QVD. It is uncompressed and record based. It even can be much bigger than CSV if it's created from QV script. It is possible to shrink it if you create it from Informatica or other tool by selecting the right numerical field types.
