Hi,
I have two tables (one from DB & another from an excel sheet) as shown below. I need to associate values from Table 1 to the columns of Table 2. Is there a function that can handle this? Can Crosstable refrence handle this and form this assoication? Pls help. Thanks!
Table 1:
FIELD NAME | FIELD VALUE | FIELD DESCRIPTION |
CRED_CARD_TY | 1 | General Purpose |
CRED_CARD_TY | 2 | Private Label |
CRED_CARD_TY | 3 | Business Card |
CRED_CARD_TY | 4 | Corporate Card |
PROD_TY | 5 | Product One |
Table 2:
CRED_CARD_TY | PROD_TY |
3 | 5 |
1 | 5 |
2 | 5 |
3 | 5 |
1 | 5 |
4 | 5 |
4 | 5 |
1 | 5 |
1 | 5 |
join the two tables on the field name which have same records.
Thanks...But you cannot in this case. The idea is to bring the Description from Table 1 to Table 2 (or any output table) corresponding to the Field Values that are itemized under Field Name column. This is just a sample set. Table 2 has a ton of columns that don't have same column names on Table 1.
I understand the Table1 but I don't understand how it is related to Table2. Please can you explain in detail?
Thanks,
DV
Hi, please check if this is what you want (see attached)
I would only advise you to be careful when using crosstable to put together fields with different formats. If all your values are only numbers or only string then it's OK.
Hope this helps.
