QVD file locked by other QVW reload process

Hi All,

Could you please shed more light on the file locking mechanism in QlikView.

For test purposes I've created 2 .QVW files:

1. Is Loading a .QVD (~ 2.5 million rows) from file called ABC.qvd to memory - Load.QVW

2. Is saving 1 row to this ABC.qvd - Save.QVW

I'm using QlikView 11.20.127420 SR10 64bit. In two separate instances of QV I've opened .QVW responsible for loading .QVD and .QVW for storing .QVD.

First I've started Load.qvw, when it is running, I'm starting second .QVW - Save.qvw - responsible for storing data to .QVD.

Curious is that second Save.qvw is ending in no time nothing special in load console (I'm waiting with clicking CLOSE). Load.qvw is ending data is loaded, clicking CLOSE in console and data are present in Load.qvw. Than I'm switching to Save.qvw clicking CLOSE and getting execution error.

Looking at the log file:

2016-03-31 10:30:58: 0013  Test:

2016-03-31 10:30:58: 0014  LOAD '1'

2016-03-31 10:30:58: 0015  AutoGenerate 1

2016-03-31 10:30:58:       1 fields found: '1', 1 lines fetched

2016-03-31 10:30:58: 0017  STORE Test INTO ABC.qvd (qvd)

2016-03-31 10:30:58:       General Script Error

2016-03-31 10:30:58:       Execution Failed

2016-03-31 10:30:58:      Execution finished.

From my perspective problem is definitely with file being locked (although handle.exe haven't found any locks).

Have come across such problem? Could you please recommend any good practices to avoid it?

Thank you in advance for any comments and advice's.

Regards,

Krzysiek
